In the entire archipelago of Rovinj are offered different sport and recreation facilities. On the Red Island are placed many sport fields, and it is also possible to rent sailboards or motorboats, and there is also a school for sailing and diving. Very popular activity in Rovinj is free climbing since there are appropriate natural locations, that are visited by many tourists. Excursions Rovinj
Lim Chanal
It is placed on the west coast of the Istrian peninsula and represents a natural phenomenon with all the beauties that brings. Lim Bay has a protected landscape status and so driving motor boats, fishing and diving are not allowed here. Yet for those who love free climbing, this is a known destination where you can climb every day.
Red Island
It is located near Rovinj, and it is consisted of two islets - St. Andrew and Maskin, which are conected with a moun. Here you can find organised boat excursions from two starting points and for sailors there is a small port where they can anchor.
St. Andrew
During the 6th century the Benedictines built a church and founded a monastery on this island. In the 15th century all abandoned buildings were renewed by the Franciscans. In 1892 on the island was opened cement and lime factory. The family Huetterott bought the island so the monastery was turned in to a summer villa, and equipped with many works of art and the entire island became a beautiful park in which were planted numerous plant species from all around the world. On the island was opened a hotel in which you can find many different facilities that enrich the tourist offer on the island. The beach on the island is partly pebbly, and favorable for little children.
Maskin
This island is reserved for naturists who can enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches, protected from all views.
